Instructions for Oral and Poster Sessions at SPECOM 2024

SPECOM 2024 will feature 2 invited lectures and 53 regular papers. The invited lectures and 26 papers will be presented in 5 oral sessions, while 27 posters will be presented in 3 poster sessions. All sessions will be conducted in a hybrid mode, with most presentations delivered in person and somedelivered remotely. Zoom will be used for online attendance.

Remote presenting authors will have full audio and video access, including screen sharing capabilities. All other online attendees will be muted and will be able only to submit questions in writing. The chairpersons will select and read questions that fit within the available time slots.

OralPresentations

  • Each oral presentation will occupy a 20-minute time slot: up to 15 minutes for the presentation and the rest for questions and discussion.
  • Presenting authors are recommended to prepare up to 15 PowerPoint slides (approximately 1 minute per slide).
  • If the slides contain audio and/or video, remote presenters will have to share their screen with the audio enabled.
  • PowerPoint presentations should be submitted using the following link by Friday, November 22nd, 2024, in both PPT and PDF formats. The names of files should contain the number of the paper in the Program (including the number of the session), followed by the underscore and the name of the presenting author (as in 1_Nosek.ppt and 4.1_Nosek.pdf).

 

PosterSessions

  • Each poster session will feature 9 papers.
  • Poster sessions will begin with a short oral introduction of 3-5 minutes per poster, delivered by each poster presenter in turn. Chairpersons will facilitate online connections with remote authors for both the oral introduction and Q&A sessions.
  • All posters will be available on the Linoit web platform for all SPECOM participants, for viewing and Q&A during the conference. Further instructions regarding the use of the Linoit platform will follow.
  • Posters will be printed and set up by the organizers.
  • Posters should be prepared according to the following guidelines:
  • Posters must be in A1 format (portrait: 59.4 cm x 84.1 cm).
  • The header of the poster should include the SPECOM 2024 conference logo, title, authors, and their affiliations.
  • The body of the poster should include an abstract and/or introduction, the main topic and results, a conclusion, key references, acknowledgments, and contact information (including a photo) of the presenting author.
  • The recommended font sizes are: 32-48 points for the header, 28-36 points for the body.
  • Posters must be submitted using the following link by Monday, November 18th, 2024, in PDF format. The filename should contain the number of the paper (including the number of the poster session), followed by the underscore and the name of the presenting author (e.g.2_Djurkic.pdf).

 

CAMERA-READY PAPER PREPARATION

Camera-ready papers for SPECOM-2024 must be 10-16 pages long (including all figures and references). The camera-ready paper submission deadline is September 17, 2024 via the Easychair system.

All authors are kindly asked to follow the Springer LNCS author formatting guidelines for the preparation of their manuscripts. The Author Guidelines document summarizes how a proceedings paper should be structured, how elements (headings, figures, references) should be formatted using our predefined styles, etc. It also gives some insight on how a paper will be typeset at Springer. 

 

Users of MS Word

Production of the camera-ready paper will be a much smoother process if authors make use of the available MS Word template, which incorporates all the recommended formatting guidelines:

Users of LaTeX

Authors who wish to use LaTeX for the preparation of their manuscript should download the corresponding support file available by Springer and check the included readme.txt file for further instructions.

The LaTeX2e Proceedings Templates by Springer are available in the scientific authoring platform Overleaf.

 

Copyright form

Each contribution must be accompanied by a Springer copyright form. Authors will be asked to transfer the copyright of the paper to Springer. This will ensure the widest possible protection and dissemination of information under copyright laws.

Submission

Authors of accepted papers are requested to submit their final, camera-ready papers, for inclusion in the Conference Proceedings, is September 17, 2024 via the Easychair system.

 

EDITORIAL POLICIES

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission’s compliance with the Springer editorial policies (Author Responsibilities and Ethics).

Authors should follow the minimum standards as set out in the Springer Nature Code of Conduct for Book Authors.

PAPER SUBMISSIONS

Authors are invited to submit a full paper in English formatted in the Springer LNCS/LNAI style. A paper must be 10 – 15 pages long. The full paper submission deadline is July 15th 26th, 2024 (23:59, Anywhere on Earth). Notification of acceptance/rejection will be on September 10th.

The authors are asked to submit their papers using EasyChair submission system https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=specom2024 

Papers submitted to SPECOM-2024 must not be under review by any other conference or publication during the SPECOM review cycle, and must not be previously published or accepted for publication elsewhere.
